More Than an NGO —
A Movement
Since 2012, we have worked from the ground up — building trust, building skills, and building futures for Kenya's most vulnerable young people.
Born from the Streets of Nairobi
In 2012, our founder watched a group of children playing barefoot in the dusty alleys of Kibera — Kenya's largest informal settlement. Many had dropped out of school. Most had no clear path forward.
They didn't write a report. They didn't start a petition. They started a homework club with six children in a living room, using textbooks borrowed from neighbours.
Twelve years later, YBGFK has reached over 5,200 young people across 48 communities, with programs spanning food distribution, outreach, health, and youth empowerment.
We believe every child — regardless of where they were born, who their parents are, or what circumstances they face — deserves the tools to build a meaningful life.
